How it works

Online therapy that works as well as in person.

No app gymnastics, no awkward workarounds. A link, a private spot, and the same therapist you'd see in the office.

Is online therapy as effective as in person?

For most people, yes. The research is clear that virtual psychotherapy works as well as in-person sessions for anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship work. Same registered therapists, same evidence-based approaches — just delivered by video.

Is it private and secure?

Sessions run on a PHIPA-compliant, encrypted video platform built for healthcare — not a generic video-call app. Your therapist takes the session from a private, confidential space, and we recommend you do the same.

What you need for a session

A device with a camera, a stable connection, and a private spot where you won't be overheard. We send a secure link before each session — there's nothing to download or set up.

Fees & insurance

Fees, insurance & affordable online therapy.

Online sessions are the same rate as in person, all including HST: individual therapy $160–$175, couples and family therapy $190, and children's therapy (10+) $160 — each per 50 minutes.

Does insurance cover online therapy? OHIP doesn't cover psychotherapy, whether online or in person. Most extended health plans do — look for coverage for a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) or Registered Social Worker (RSW), which is what our clinicians are. We provide receipts you can submit for reimbursement.

Looking for a more affordable option? We keep a limited number of reduced-rate individual sessions at $80 — no documentation required. If cost is the barrier, mention it on your consultation and we'll talk it through honestly.

Why Clear Moon Therapy

A small, carefully assembled practice.

Four things clients consistently name when asked what made online therapy with us feel different.

01 They get the context

Your background is the starting assumption.

Family patterns, cultural expectations, intergenerational dynamics — the room is built around the context you come from, not bolted on after.

02 Virtual-first flexibility

Evenings, weekends, from wherever you are.

Sessions run 9 a.m.–8 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m.–3 p.m. on weekends — by secure video from home, the office, or wherever fits the day.

03 Real expertise

Clinicians, not coaches.

Registered with OCSWSSW and CRPO. Trained in CBT, DBT, ACT, IFS, EFT, and trauma-informed approaches.

04 No waitlist

Speak with a therapist this week.

Book a free consultation and you'll be talking with a real clinician in days, not months. If we're not the right fit, we'll point you toward someone who is.

Common questions

Online therapy, answered.

Is online therapy as effective as in-person therapy?

For most concerns, yes. Research consistently shows online psychotherapy is as effective as in-person care for anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. You see the same registered therapist using the same evidence-based approaches.

Is virtual therapy private and secure?

Yes. Sessions run on a PHIPA-compliant, encrypted video platform designed for healthcare — not a consumer video-call app. Your therapist joins from a private, confidential space.

Does insurance cover online therapy in Ontario?

OHIP doesn't cover psychotherapy, online or in person. Most extended health plans do — look for coverage for a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) or Registered Social Worker (RSW). We provide receipts for reimbursement.

Where in Ontario do you offer online therapy?

Anywhere in the province — Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Ottawa, Hamilton, London, and everywhere in between. All you need is a private space and an internet connection. In-person individual sessions are also available at our Etobicoke office.

Can I switch between online and in-person sessions?

Yes. Many clients do a mix — virtual most weeks, in person at our Etobicoke office when it suits them. Same therapist, same rate, either way.

How do I get started with online therapy?

Book a free 15–20 minute consultation. We'll talk through what's bringing you in and whether we're the right fit. If we are, we'll book you in — usually within the week. There's no waitlist.
